Red /12.5% ABV / Spain

Mencia may not be a particularly well known grape of Spain but it is THE grape of the wet and wild north west of the country. True to the character of many cool-climate grapes it is bright and elegant, but Mencia takes aromatics to the next level. Fresh red berries, wild savoury spice, fragrant violet tempered with a graphite and spice quality mencia appeals to many. This is a denser style with less floral and more spice and red fruit. A perfect introduction to the key red grape of Galicia.
